on the family side of things i was traveling a lot back to Ireland to see my farther as he was very ill and at the same time i was moving home so no stress there. was not running a great deal but when i did get out it relay help my state of mind as did getting out on my bike.
not having any focus on any running races i did spend a lot of time on the bike and complied the ride London 46 mile sportive in Aug 18. was just ticking over on the running side and was looking forward to so good training over the winter ready for the Gizzly in March every thing was going well but then in Feb we had a bit of ice and yes i fell over on and did a really good job on my ankle so no running hopeful i could still run the Cub but my physio soon put a stop to that and the road back to running was going to take some time around 6 mouths. but lucky i did get a place for the ride London 100 mile sportive in Aug 19 so i did have some thing to focus on and was good for my rehab.
For the last couple of year i have been a Ambassador for Alton Sports and am very lucky to go to some very special events and going to the New Balance popup pub for the London marathon and
learning all about the company and there trainers.
Ride London training was going well and the cafe stops where always welcome on the long rides there is only so many energy bars you can eat so a slice of cake and coffee near the end of a 4 hr training ride was always welcome. So if you like your coffee and you see lots of cycles at a coffee shop it most probably dose good coffee. As for ride 100 this was an amazing event all on closed roads and finishing on the Mail just like you do for the marathon so that's two down one to go !
Decided take some time off just to let my body and mind recover so i could be ready for the road back to running fitness. was still out on my bike but was just enjoying been out not having to hit any time or mile targets. My ankle was a lot better but needed to take it very easy just as and when. The easy time off did have one down side i get one or two lurgy s but that is now all in the passed.
Now for the year ahead i am planning to run the woodland woggle in May as this is one of my favourite off road 10k then the Westminster mile and maybe the 10k the next day will just have to see how i get on with my training.
In my next post i will cover my training plan and my more long turm plan for the year
hopefully this video clip works for the last Ambassador day with Alton Sports and Brooks
